Stourhead, Wiltshire. The landscaped gardens of Stourhead in Wiltshire, England, were laid out in 1741 - 50. The Pantheon, in imitation of the famous temple in Rome, was built around 1753. The waters were collected from the river Stour and formed into a lake, around which temples, vistas and a grotto were created.
